Exploration Day
09 December 2020 | Ponce Inlet
glenda groome
With the wind still howling and the temps in the low 60’s no one is anxious to head back to sea and honestly no one is anxious to cruise “the ditch” (ICW), so we will sit one more day.
The tallest lighthouse in Florida is here at Ponce Inlet so we make a dinghy trip to have lunch and take a nice walk to the lighthouse and museum.
Lunch was delightful on the water at a little place called Down The Hatch. We had No Limits (John and Joanne) and Tortuga (Scott and Jan) along with Jaxon as we entered the establishment. The place is pretty big and was every NFL lovers dream with a nice separate sports bar. The food was delicious and filling......just what we needed to warm our bones before walking to the lighthouse.
After a brisk walk to and fro we jump back in our dinghies and head back to our vessels before the sun dropped. We will head out sometime after lunch today for an overnight to Fort Pierce.
