Off to Nassau

Before the morning cruisers net Greg is off on his way to the airport to head into Nassau. I relax and enjoy my second cup of coffee and visit with Meaghan, Annie and Allister of Jazzy Lady. Their captain/husband/daddy is an airline pilot and was actually on the flight with Greg into Nassau. The kids wanted their Jaxon fix for the week.

Once alone, I began cleaning out cabinets and wiping down interior walls as it is what you cannot see that usually bites you in the behind on a boat. So today is a good day as I await the winds and the word on how Greg is making out.

By 11:00 he is sitting in the cab and on his way to the dentist where they are expecting him. They were very helpful and made a very uncomfortable situation a little more comfortable. By noon the doctor was seeing Greg and taking x-rays.

While he stresses in the dentist office, back here at home there has been an invasion of our anchorage because of the coming weather. There are tons of catamarans and one in particular got my attention as I felt he was a little too close for comfort. I am alone and expect the weather to start in the evening so I just hop in my dinghy and ride over to let him know I am fine with where he is as long as he understood my situation. I am alone and if the poop hits the fan and he starts swing, I will not be moving but will need him to make any adjustments. He was great with it and they were a very pleasant couple. They even offered to help me pick Greg up in town later when he returns from the dentist. Super!

Then the next text says, "they want to take out the implant, I may need to stay the night in Nassau". WHAT!!!!! Oh well, wait and see! So they were in touch with the dentistry practice in Virginia and they all agreed it needed to come out. So the dentist discussed with Greg and told him he would make his flight back and would not need to stay another day. And just like that, he went in, took it out and ten minutes later they were done. It was not staying in the mouth at all, the bone was rejecting the implant. Now we just need the socket to heal up and we should be good to go till we get home.

The winds were picking up in Nassau, the flight was delayed a bit but by 7:30 he would be at the Exuma Market dingy dock. My new friend offered and I accepted his offer to drive me in to pick Greg up. As dark as it was and navigating through all these boats, I was glad to have the help. So great to have these folks in the anchorage.

Pasta, poached eggs and homemade bread for the patient as he is not able to eat much and has not eaten since breakfast. So we now own a rather expensive implant and extract. LOL.

Off to await the winds and remembering that tomorrow holds all kinds of possibilities because one fine angel is celebrating!
