Knowing that the fishing and sport boats would be launching early, the crew is up at 0530 hours enjoying coffee and awaiting the sun to rise a bit. When it begins to peak through we call Spartina to let them know we will be making an early departure. Spartina had the same thoughts as they were in a marina in a slip they were not too crazy about.

The weather outside is frightful but the cockpit is so delightful......(maybe we should write a little song). The captain is in the rain as Jaxon and I maneuver Ti Amo around awaiting the signal that the anchor is up and to forge ahead.

We pull out of the the thoroughfare and coming out of the marina we eye Spartina. We will lead the way down the ICW to Bucksport Plantation Marina. Greg and I stayed here back in 2015 and while it was much more of a marina back then, it looks as though storms have done them no favors. Of course we knew we would be on a bulkhead which is fine as long as you have some good fenders. But upon arrival they have put us on the fuel dock right in from of the pumps. When I informed them we would not be taking on any fuel, they were still fine with putting us there even though we may be here a couple of days. I guess they know there is not much potential for traffic with the upcoming storms.

I could go on and on about the nasty day down the ICW in the wet rain, but who really wants to hear about the idiots that pass you with no warning and leave wakes that send you to and fro. But I will say that we got some satisfaction when we were approaching the Socastee Swing Bridge.......yes the bridge tender was being requested to open for four boats that were sitting there waiting.....one of them being one of our idiot friends. She came back to them and said that she would open as soon as the two sailboats behind them caught up a bit. YAY....we were all smiling at that point. Made our day! It was just that kind of day.

Happy to be hooked up to electrical and thawing out with friends for cocktails and appetizers. Dixon and Pete joined us for a bit of lively chatter about the day and plans for the upcoming week.
