Deltaville to Yorktown

07 November 2020
After spending two days at the Spring Cove Marina in Deltaville Va. we made it to Wormley Creek Marina in Yorktown. We spotted a pod of dolphins playing in the wake as we cruised about 2 miles off shore, they seemed to be having a great time. The depth meter that has been giving us some trouble seemed to be working much better today. The bar in Yorktown had a interesting set of beer taps mounted on beer kegs, it made us think of our friends back home in Sodus Point.

A foggy ride to Annapolis

23 October 2020
Today we left Summit North Marina on the Chesapeake/Delaware Canal on our way to Annapolis Maryland. We waited until after 9:00am for the fog to lift and started down the canal. As we went, the fog closed back in and we kept a close eye on the radar and chart plotter. Just as we cleared the canal and started down Chesapeake Bay we heard the Coast Guard announce that they were closing the canal to all traffic.

Atlantic City

20 October 2020
We had a good ride down from NYC harbor. About 96 miles starting at 7:00AM and arriving a little after 4:00PM. Fog off and on all day but still had at least 2 miles visibility most of the time. Radar and the AIS system were very helpful. Twice other boats were able to hail us by name since they saw our boat name on the AIS system. The highlight of the trip was when we spotted a pod of dolphins playing ahead of our boat.
Atlantic City was disappointing since Covid has closed many of the restaurants and local businesses. The Verrazano's narrows bridge leaving NY harbor was very impressive
