Fingers crossed

After the rather worrying reports of hull de-lamination I was anxious to check out the situation for myself. No use fretting about it from a distance.
Nightmare visions a plenty.
The first thing going through my mind when I cast eyes upon 'the hole' was: 'Is that it?'
Not much to look at - only the discoloured patch feels slightly damp. The surrounding area is a dry as a bone and seems to be in good shape. But then again, what do I know?
It would be within our means to sort the exposed area and we could still make the end June launch deadline.
So, now we're waiting on the surveyor to get back to us. I'm keen to get this show on the road.
Pontoon berth now booked and confirmed. Should make future single- or short-handed sailing a lot easier. Also, there have been reports of thefts and vandalism of boats kept on a swinging mooring on the Orwell. After all we've been through, that would be the last thing we need. You can't put a price on peace of mind.
Fingers crossed, but I've got a feeling that, for once, things may not be as bad as feared.
PS: the mast is up. More and more, she's starting to look like a proper boat again.
