Trying to figure out new technologies always seems to be a challenging and frustrating event for this 58 year old. As everything in life, it's a process. So here I am in the process of figuring out how to send blogs via satellite so our friends and family can see a few words from us every now and then.
For those of you who are in similar situations of trying to figure out communications while at sea, what I am using here is XGate software. It can be used with satellite and with what I will call a "normal' wifi connection. So far I set up my Sailblogs account with a "normal' connection. I've been able to upload pictures and print with ease. The photo gallery allows for photos of pretty good size to be uploaded. Via the satellite only low quality images are able to be uploaded and nothing fancy can be done with the text. So here goes. Let's see what this looks like.
