s/v Gypsy Wind

We are preparing our 40 year old Tartan "TOCK" 41 for an extended cruise. The plan is to leave So. California for Mexico and the Sea of Cortez, first. Eventually, we would like to sail east, to Florida and cruise there, the Bahamas, and do the ICW.

Nope...I know what you're thinking...the volatility in the world financial markets are giving us trouble. In our case, the great recession of 2008/2009 caused us so much trouble that what's going on now is completely meaningless to us.

Our troubles are much different, and are like this: electric bilge pump died this weekend, manual must also need a rebuild as it is inoperable (discovered after electric stopped working), sail cover doesn't fit over new mainsail, new mainsail chafes on backstay up top and needs to be re-cut/trimmed, small amount of oil still leaking from valve cover on diesel, even after tightening up the hold-down screws...we even have bubbles in the varnish! Does it ever end? How can I make progress on the "to do" list when I keep having to add this kind of stuff to it?

AAAAARRRRRGH!
