We are preparing our 40 year old Tartan "TOCK" 41 for an extended cruise. The plan is to leave So. California for Mexico and the Sea of Cortez, first. Eventually, we would like to sail east, to Florida and cruise there, the Bahamas, and do the ICW.

Tilley likes Papaya!

The new mizzen was delivered a few days ago, and we tried it out on a quickie weekend trip to Catalina. Friday turned out to be quite a windy day, so the sail got a good initiation. Three turns/rolls/reefs in the genoa, and a full mizzen and no main, and Gypsy Wind roared her way to Catalina, reaching in 20 plus knots of wind, with gusts to 25 as we approached the island. What a fun sail.
On this trip, we brought a large papaya to get us in the mood for cruising in Mexico. It was delicious for breakfast. It turns out that Tilley the Not Quite a Shih Tzu, loves it, too. Who knew a dog would like papaya? I think this dog will eat ANYTHING!
