MASTers of our Domain Part 2

24 July 2014
We're now officially a sailboat again. Mast stepping went well this morning with the assistance of 2 of the marina guys and we got all the rigging tuned up and the sails back on. Sam had the honour of being winched up the mast to unhook the crane strap once everything was secured in position.

Tomorrow looks like good weather so we're heading north for some sailing and sightseeing in some of the most picturesque landscapes in the country. We'll need to get an early start as we were warned about the weekend power boaters all arriving early Friday afternoon and screaming out of here heading to Beausolei Island for the weekend.

We also said farewell to Row, Gus and their little dog David. We have been leapfrogging with them through much of the Trent for several days. They are from Florida aboard a trawler doing the great loop trip. Row brought us warm, fresh baked cookies the other night in the pouring rain....ya gotta love that!! They are a great couple and we enjoyed our time getting to know them. Hopefully we'll cross paths with them again.

Bruce and Esther took us out for dinner tonight and provided a lot of great advice from their years of cruising both Georgian Bay and winters in Florida and the Caribbean.

We may be off the grid for the next few days so no blogging for a while. Cell phone service is supposed to be pretty good up where we're going so we're still reachable.
