Small Craft Channel
25 July 2014
After 3 days in Midland we headed north up the small craft channel. This takes you through numerous islands, rocks and shoals so you gotta be paying attention or there’s gonna be trouble. Sam did a good job navigating and we compared the charts with the GPS to ensure we were exactly where we needed to be. Our trip ended mid afternoon when we pulled into a nice little anchorage just a bit down 12 Mile Bay.
We dropped the dinghy into the water for the first time and got the outboard fired up for a trip to shore to water the dog. Dinghy Dog approved of the newly installed dinghy floorboards as he was able to stand on reasonably level ground and get a grip vs. The slanted aluminum of the dinghy. As soon as it hit the water he was waiting at the top of the ladder to be airlifted in. It’s been a year since he was last in it but he obviously has a good memory.
The day was capped off with the excellent sunset captured in today’s photo.
