Technology, It's Everywhere!

26 July 2014
Made it to Killbear park today in 3 hours from 12 Mile Bay. Not a bad trip. The anchorage here is great, the bottom sandy and the beach phenomenal. We had a chance to pump up the stand up paddle board Sam won at the boat show this year ( a total surprise as we never win anything!) It was fun to get out on it and no one got dumped so we either must be naturals at it or it ain’t that hard.....I’ll go with the former. We took Finn for a long walk as he was down on his exercise being boat bound for the past couple of days.

The park has showers and running water washrooms we can use for the low low price of only a $14 mooring fee....on the honour system...and we have honour although a lot of boaters that anchored after us apparently don’t.

Today’s most amazing thing is that I am sitting in a boat, in the middle of nowhere, accessing the internet utilizing my Blackberry as a WiFi hot spot connected to laptop. (Thanks Dave for the tip on this!) We also have spent our entire trip following a chartplotter with GPS links to 7 satellites, which tells us exactly where we are, complete with a map. I certainly would not have enjoyed this trip a few years back prior to this type of technology

Now, I know I’ve been around awhile, but when our family first got our cottage, we were lucky if we could get a radio station to come in and a few years later we got TV on which we got 1 station. Now we can access the world!.....Amazing!
