I'm Bored...Chairman of the Board.

08 August 2014
We're back for round 2 at Cabot Head tonight, arriving at about 3:30 with 3 other boats in the anchorage. Little did we know we were just ahead of the Georgian Bay Rush Hour! Within 1 hour there were 6 other boats all dropping anchor around us. One particular treat was watching a guy in a very nice Tarton 37 come in, do a round trip of the bay and then drop his anchor and drift back over another guys anchor, which had a marker float attached. Now 1 would think a guy with a nice boat such as that would have some skill and common sense. Apparently that is not the case...probably a former power boater.

The weather has continued to be great with the exception of there being no wind. But, it beats rain and cold so we'll take it. Did the lighthouse museum tour again and left Finn in the designated Barking Lot while we were inside. Chris and Justine had swim and did a little fishing as well, but no luck.

Finn, on the other hand, had a Mandarin-like experience as we were descended upon by a hoard of, what we thought until this point, were Lake Ontario flies. For those of you not familiar with these little gems, they are slightly smaller than a standard house fly, but they come out of nowhere miles off shore and proceed to bite you anywhere below the knee. Finn spends hours trying to catch them as they bite him as well, so he gladly cleaned up the dozens of carcasses we accumulated via our fly swatter-fest. He gets a feeling of accomplishment of bagging his prey and we don't have to clean up the bodies. Everyone wins!
