Let Me Take You Home Tonight

26 August 2014
Rode the current coming out the river on the wall at Dalhousie Yacht Club for the night. Tonight's shot is a magnificent sunset in Lake Ontario, looking towards home over some freighters anchored just offshore. Red sky at night, sailor's delight! We headed for home early in the morning under full sail for most of the trip. We're back!!!!

1350 miles total distance
210 hours of engine run time
6 times sailing
7.5 weeks away from home
Best scenery: Collins Inlet on the north shore of Georgian Bay
Nicest, most hospitable people: Ashtabula Yacht Club
Unfriendliest People: Erie Yacht Club
Best Marina/Club: Wye Heritage Marina
Worst Marina/Club: Goderich, due to the lack of scenery
Most Difficult Navigation: 30,000 Islands...there are really 80,000 if you count all the rocks
Worst Weather: Goderich Lake Huron
Best Weather: North Channel...although not a lot of wind
Oddest feature: Reversing current from 1 day to the next at Little Current (Fresh water tides??)
Coolest experience: Taking the boat over Big Chute
Most Helpful People: a tie between Trent Severn Lock Staff / Manager of CFB Trenton Yacht Club.
General Observations: Canada loves windmill powered hydro generation as we saw hundreds from the North Channel, through Lake Huron and Lake Erie and not 1 in the US.

We're home and happy to be back at Lakeshore Yacht Club. thanks to all of you that followed our adventures and posted comments.

Now, for our next adventure..........
