Christmas in Texas
25 December 2016 | San Antonio River Walk

Merry Christmas to everyone. We're in San Antonio Texas today and had a great turkey and ham lunch today courtesy of the resort. The place we're staying is pretty good with lots of friendly people. The down side is the Wifi and internet service is pretty flakey. Consequently, I'm typing this post from the parking lot of a nearby Wendy's while Sam does some email and online banking. That's a Christmas first!
It's 26 degrees here today with a nice breeze so we'll take it! We toured around San Antonio yesterday and did the river walk. This is a very unique area where the local river winds through the city and has walking paths on both sides with trees, stores cafes and hotels. The unique part is that it is 1 level below the street! They have guided cruise boats as well so that will serve as our river cruise!
We also went to see the most important attraction in Texas, the Alamo. Now, as luck would have it, this attraction is only closed 2 days of the year...Dec 24th and 25th! So, we're batting a thousand for tourist attractions on this trip between here and Graceland.
It looks like this clip may be the theme of our trip.

We met some really nice people at lunch today who had been full time RVers for 15 years. Surprisingly, they haven't been everywhere in all that time but they certainly had some great stories and advice.
We're heading out tomorrow so not sure where at this time. As with this resort, internet service is not always available so blog posts may continue to be irregular until we land somewhere for an extended period.
