Do Doo Doo Lookin' Out My Backdoor

26 December 2016 | Seminole Canyon
Hit the road and headed west today with minimal traffic as it is boxing day....and, hardly any trucks on the road! As an added bonus, our mirror turn signals on the truck are working today as well. So, hopefully all of our mechanical bugs have been worked out and we're in for some smooth sailing from here on in. Also saw a great Dept. Of Transportation sign today on the side of the road "Caution, hitchhikers could be escaped prisoners".

At our Christmas lunch yesterday we were talking to a very nice couple that have been full time RVers for 15 years. they were telling us they have seen so many things over that time period that it was hard to recall them all. She did mention that 1 great thing they had seen was the world's largest ball of string! (And she was serious). This is getting weird because there was a reference to the world's 2nd largest ball of string in National Lampoon's Vacation movie, which hits on all of the things that happen to people on road trips...some of which we've already encountered in less than a week!.

But I digress....we ended up at a place called Seminole Canyon State Park, which is right on the boarder with Mexico, separated by the Rio Grande. Great deal for $26 we got a camp site with paved pad, picnic table, hydro, water and a million dollar view. We fired up the BBQ and grilled some steaks and had a nice dinner at our window seat table watching the sun set over the mesa. There were a few feral cats running around in the scrub and the crickets chirped in after the sun set. We slept with the windows open as it was quite warm over night.
