Mississippi in the middle of a dry spell.....

08 December 2017
WTF! In the past 5 days we've driven close to 2000 kms, dodging potholes and bad drivers, survived yet another round of Turbomax diesel idiosyncrasies, dragged a mobile billboard through gale force winds and we wake up to this!!! Apparently this happens around here about once every 10 years or so, and we were just lucky enough to see it! We could have stayed home for this!

And don't even get Finn started!! He's gone underground in a pile of blankets.....he may be trying out for the recently vacated Whiarton Willy position where he only has to come out and look for his shadow 1 day in February!

It was sopping wet packing snow so great for snowman making but not so much for driving in a state that has no plows, sand/salt spreaders or drivers that know what to do when this happens. The police have closed some of the highway on ramps so we decided to stay put and wait out the deep freeze that is supposed to be coming tonight. We went to get propane so we've got lots, mailed some cards and spent the rest of the day shovelling off the roof and slides so they don't freeze open tonight. I spent the rest of the day updating a week's worth of our adventures on this blog site!

They're calling for -6C but it then goes up to 14 tomorrow! We hope to get out early in the morning but if the roads are ice, we'll have to wait.
