Lost in Austin

10 December 2017
We made our way down to Austin today. There was road construction for miles on the interstate but traffic not too bad. It will be a nice highway when it's done.
Sam was calling a couple of parks but couldn't get hold of anyone so we took a chance and did a drive by. It was a tight turn into the park off the service road, which was under construction, and a security gate within 60' of the road....and it was closed...and there was no one in the office. Luckily the park manager came by in his golf cart and found us a spot where the plumbing had just been repaired. otherwise, it was full and I would have been faced with backing the rig out onto the service road to get out of there!

Got a nice spot with trees and even got to wash the rig, which is not allowed in most places. Met a guy from Wisconsin with a brand new 44' Dutch Star Class A diesel motorhome. This was his first year with it and he was on his way to Arizona having been to Florida first. Nice rig from the outside but I would think a bit of a handful to drive due to the length.
