Cavtat, Croatia
04 August 2010
Our entrance into Croatia began with the very pleasant, neat little holiday town of Cavtat, some 6n.m. S of Dubrovnik. We had read that Cavtat was an easy port of entrance and so it was. The police & H.M. both spoke sufficient Eng. & easily and efficiently filled out any necessary documents. There office had a view of the classic palm lined grass groomed street promenade over looking the quaint harbor, where progressively more and more super yachts seam to have discovered this little haven.
Once checked in we chose not to take the 50 Euro fee to moor on the quay and rounded the hill peninsula to the other side of the bay. A great location, with an easy and very enjoyable bus ride into Dubrovnik.
3 times though the winds picked up at about 23:00 for an hour, and we or other super sail yachts dragged anchor and we were all on alert, for to see a beautiful yacht rapidly side approaching you, is not a good thing!!
The sea strangely became extremely cold as the days progressed, down to 18.6!
We also got our dinhy Honda motor submerged into water, as our dinghy was hauled partially out of the water, and tied to a tree, an unhappy ferry driver, having a bad day….
