Making Good Time

Although not the most pleasant day of our trip, today has been the fastest. We have run all night and day under only the genoa and have been posting speed over ground of 5 to 7 knots the whole time. Definitely our best day in view of distance covered.
But unfortunately today has been overcast and grey. It is warm though so shorts and t-shirts are the apparel of choice. In the last few hours the swells have changed direction and is now making for quite the ride as we take the swells on the beam. Time will tell whether we put up with the swell angle or favour slower speeds for a smoother ride.
Still not a soul to be seen our here for several days. We were followed by a flock (there were eight) of what I presume to be some sort of Albatross or similar birds. I admit that I am no expert in fowl but I do not know of another other types of birds that frequent the ocean over 700 miles from land. The birds have exceptional wingspans for their body size and fly very low over the swells, their wingtips barely inches above the water. Most are grey-bodied but we saw one with a while body yesterday just before sunset.
It is getting close to dinner time. Morgan is cooking up a chicken caeser salad.
Ciao.
