Almost there...

What can I say about today. Squalls, waves, rain...repeat. The weather hasn't been great today but we are making good speed in more or less the right direction. The wind has been shifting with each passing squall so we've been gybing regularly all day long. Winds are 10 to 15 knots rising to 25 knots with the squalls. Seas are 6-10 feet with the occasional 12+ footer thrown in for good measure.
After lunch today we set about cleaning the interior. In the process we found one remaining bottle of wine!
Still haven't spotted any other vessels in several days now. I would have expected to start running into more traffic as we approached Hawaii. Oh well, easier sailing I suppose. The only noteworthy sighting today was a school of flying fishing, flying from wavetop to wavetop. Quite the bizarre sight. I can't get used to the image of a fish literally flying. They remind me of humming birds the way their "wings" thrash about so quickly.
One more sleep and we'll pull into Kahului and report in with customs. After filling our tanks (diesel, gasoline, water) and hosing down the boat we'll head around the north end of the island and anchor off Lahaina. It will be strange to be on land again.
