RJ/Springtime Weather
Hi All
Thank you for your messages, thoughts and visits. We have settled in for the hard yards and only have family visiting us now. Wayne has moved on to stronger pain relief which is having good effect today. Every day is different and we just go with the flow.
Here is a photograph view from our apartment which Wayne is enjoying. He feels like he has come home, as this area is where he lived for many years.
Regards from us both
Rhonda & Wayne

Settled & Rest

Beautiful Weather
Hi All
We are now settled in Brisbane. You will find us at Hillcrest Apartments. Just give us a call and you will find you are most welcome to come see Wayne. Arfur has settled with Janna and comes for sneaky visits ... already. We were in deep trouble today by his first "sneaky" visit .. but he knows he is not far from us. It is comfortable here and there is a nice bath for Wayne to use. He finds it helps his pain.
Cheers

Harry Returns Home

19 July 2011 | Mackay
RJ / Sunny / Pleasantly Tropical
Hi All
Plan B has had her motors serviced and the generator serviced. All bits and bobs are stowed. Harry has been through his clothes and made pacakages for dump and lifeline. He has packed the things he wants around him for those last weeks and we still end up with 4 big bags, a backpack each and a handbag. Oh well, nothing like being prepared for any occassion. The last few days here in Mackay have been great for Wayne. Saturday night he had his first wake with all of my family. Sunday we had a visit from the skipper who came back from N.Z. with us. He and his wife stayed the night and we had what I would call ... another wake. We also had my nephew with us for dinner. Wayne has enjoyed all the visitors and all the help that has been provided to get the boat ready for a few months rest. Luckily, my sister and nephew have been trained in the processes of running motors, generators and shown where all the boat washing equipment is. They are looking forward to spending a few nights on the boat on the weekends. Rosie has gone to live with my nephew for a few months and has settled in ... already demand a drink of his beer. Arfur is very unsettled and disappeared on us last night. We spent until 2 am looking for him and crashed in despair. We found out this morning he followed a cattle dog on it's late evening walk, got picked up by a lady who is not into dogs and delivered to one of the marine workers boat whom has a lady maltese dog. Arfur, in his pj's of course, happily spent the night in bed with the lady maltese dog. These people had had a few drinks last night and could not focus appropriately on his dog tag to see the telephone number. Arfur dawdled home when we went to get him. He seems to know Wayne is not well and spends most of his day on the dock. He will come back to Brisbane with us. So, the bags are packed, just a few little bits to tidy up in the morning and off to the airport we will go. We will be in touch with you all and catch up with some of you as well we hope. Cheers

HarrysCruise Comes To A Sudden Halt

14 July 2011 | Mackay Qld
Some Light Showers/Windy
Hi All
It has been a week of sad news for us. Firstly, my cousins wife of 48 years died from breast cancer. On Tuesday my favourite aunt passed away from a blown aortic anuerism. On Monday, Wayne had a physical examination confirming that we felt his liver was enlarged and scans were organised for Wednesday. We received the results of those yesterday and it concluded that he has some cancer in his liver and one of his lungs. As well, he has moderate ascites and the cancer in his bones has exacerbated in his right hip, thigh & knee, his spine and frontal bone. So sadly for Wayne, HarrysCruise has to come to a sudden halt. We will return to Brisbane around the middle of next week. We have only a few weeks left with Wayne.
I expect we will catch up with many of you in Brisbane and I will let you know where we are. At this point in time, Plan B will be here in Mackay and be cared for by my family until I can come back. Wayne is in increasing pain and his condition has taken an incredible turn downwards extremely suddenly and we expect this will continue.
So .... what else to say ... but see you in Brisbane perhaps

Mackay

10 July 2011 | Mackay Marina
RJ / Sunny / Coolish
Hi All
We are in Mackay. We arrived Saturday (yesterday) afternoon after a dream run from South Percy Island. We had a look at Curlew Island group, The Beverleys and Knight Island. There was a SSW swell of 1.5 mtrs and as we were travelling well, we decided to keep on going to give Wayne a rest day for his birthday (today). It has been a great day for him of resting and lunch with my eldest brother & his wife. We have settled in Mackay Marina for a week to catch up with some of the relatives and for Waynes treatment tomorrow and we hope some scans. He is suffering increasing pain in the liver area.
Best Wishes to All
Will put up some more photographs in the gallery tomorrow.

What a Beautiful Day

06 July 2011 | Great Keppel Island
RJ/Red Sky At Night/Tropical Paradise
Hi All
Gosh you come back to territory you know and wonder why you ever left it. The tropics are so beautiful. Today was a great cruise. We only used engines as we are trying to do the 50 hours before we reach Mackay. Don't think we will as today was only a 9 hour day and we thought it would be longer. The new engines run at 60 to 70% run faster then the old ones ever did. We have another hour at that speed tomorrow and then have to increase them to 80%. At this rate, Mackay by Saturday may be a breeze ... depending on Brett and Triplets as to we make a diversion to Yepoon tomorrow. Either way, it will definitely be Mackay by Sunday.
The day was absolutely magical ... mill pond seas ... had two trawling lines out ... lost my big white and red lure and (wah wah) my blue bomby ... pulled the wire trace out of a soldered ring .... musta been big. I am thinking I need to concentrate on the fishing instead of the washing. Lets see how tomorrow goes.
Great Keppel Island is still as beautiful as ever. Lets hope they never bring the tourists back and the resort stays closed. It truely is a beautiful place in the world and on our return trip, I hope we have time to spend a few days here.
Well all ... that's it from me ... except GO THE MAROONS!!!!!!
Cheers
