Sam and Katie
13 January 2009 | Marsh Harbor
Sam and Katie slowed down to island time jus fine. Katie, a true lake person, won the hero award for finally jumping out of the dinghy over the ocean reef. We didn't tell her about all the barracuda Sam and I saw until she returned to the dinghy. Then Sam and Katie were ambushed by a 4-foot angelfishasaurus rex, but they survived the encounter well enough to make the Nippers pig roast later that day. Katie's trip goal was to see a sea turtle. We almost hit one right in front of us but he swam under the boat on a windless day with crystal water, then leaving Hopetown two turtles swam around the anchorage as we dropped the mooring. Nobody won at Bingo night at Capt. Jacks but we made up for it by climbing the Hopetown lighthouse the next morning. All in all, a successful conversion of two new Abaconians.
