Ask Me If I'm Awake First
12 March 2019 | Enroute to Clipperton Island
Catherine
Last night I had a dream that Havili was on a lee shore with strong winds. I quickly sat up in bed, convinced that I needed to get to the cockpit to check on the situation... I climbed over Tucker, telling him I was headed to the cockpit to see if the watch needed help. He mumbled, "I think they are fine, Catherine," still half asleep. I started looking for my sweater telling him I was pretty sure they would need some help and that we were dangerously close to land. It wasn't until he said, "There isn't any land around us" that I was able to step out of my dream and remember we are at least a couple hundred miles from any land at all. In the morning, I made sure to tell everyone that if I wander into the cockpit, off watch, in the the middle of the night and ask if they need my help, to be sure I am awake first! We are more than half way to Clipperton and the conditions have been the complete opposite of my dream...hot, sunny days with calm winds and seas! Love, Catherine
