Stayed a second day in Vidal Bay today. Poured rain all day so took the opportunity to work inside. Did't accomplich much other than remove the CD changer and retrieved the stuck cassette. Got it working now but it still has a problem; no sound. Oh well, I need to get to a wifi spot to download a manual. Yesterday was quite nice, mostly sunny. We took the day to work on a few projects, rearrange the SSB antenna cable, rig the wash down pump with a second outlet for the cockpit and so on. It seems every time we take something off of the "to do list" we add two more.
I took the din out for its' first real run this year. It ran fine. Went up to the sand beach on the northeast side of the bay, perhaps a mile or two from our boat. The water is up to 18C yesterday but that is still pretty cool for this time of year. There is a small stream that flows into the lake beside the beach and I noticed something jumping. Upon investigation it was full of brook trout, most around 12 to 14 inches. My tackle was back at the boat. I made a note to come back in the morning but will put it off for now. Too much rain! Time to go and bail the dink again.
