July 22, 2014 - 7:30 AM As planned, we took the day off again. We moved the boat about a ¼ of a mile to a nicer and more protected spot. Took a dingy ride over to South Benjamin Island and went for a walk across the island, picked a few blue berries and enjoyed the view of the area from the top of the hill. The water is finally warm enough to swim in, for a short period of time. North and South Benjamin Islands are quite interesting. You can readily see the volcanic activity where the red granite has captured pockets of other rocks and minerals. That, and the fact that the shore of the ancient ocean was right here; the limestone that is full of fossils is layered right up against the red granite on the south side of South Benjamin. We also have a NEW map. We were not happy with the other one. There is a link on both this Blog site as well as the Hedonism1 site. It now shows all of our stops along the way. Today? Not sure. We have a few boat chores to do and there is no wind so we might be here until tomorrow. The photo is us heading back to the boat in the background.
