We left Heyward by 8 am yesterday and had a great sail; for about 2 hours and then the wind died. We tried everything and set a new record, putting the Spinnaker up 4 times in one day. We couldn't even keep the air in it. And with no wind came flies....not as bad as Superior though. We overnighted in a nice small harbour north of Tobermory called "Rattlesnake Harbour", and no, we didn't see any. We did have the whole place to ourselves which was nice. The water was almost as clear as Superior with no problem watching the bottom go by 30 feet below us. Today we are heading south on Lake Huron. Not sure how far we are going but the wind has picked up to 16 and we are doing just over 8 knots as I write this. If we can keep 7 knots we will make Sauble beach if not well, we will find somewhere. There are very few places to anchor along this stretch but we have a couple of options. And I just got off the phone with our good friend, Clark Tucker. Clark lives in Indiana and was in Killarney! We just missed him and would have hung around a few more days to visit if we had known he was coming up. Clark used to own his own Mu-2 and was on the Mu-2 Safety Board with Bob.
We will be updating our album once we get some free WIFI.
