N18.29.909; W 64.21.496 Hedonism Outbound 46 November 13, 2014 ARRIVED AT THE BITTER END Hedonism has arrived at the Bitter End at 0330 this morning. Please close our Float Plan! Thanks for everything Dick and Chris and especially the Salt Dawgs Bill and Linda. The above we sent out to close our flight err, "float plan" with the Salty Dawgs yesterday morning. (Thursday am) We took a mooring ball (in the dark), had a couple of beers to celebrate and then went for a nap. We are actually in good shape and not overtired. I slept in the cockpit for the majority of the trip so I could be front and center and besides, it was cooler than in the cabin. We now have WIFI and I will upload a few photos in the next couple of days. We do NOT have a SIM card for our phone and that will probably take a week or more as there isn't too much here. Apparently, I need to go to Road Town to get one so that will have to wait until we head that way. We actually get a free mooring ball at the Bitter End Yacht Club until December 19, normally $30 per night, as a Salty Dawg. In addition, we get a free night on the dock (normally $1.75 per foot) and if we want on the dock longer for Salty Dawgs it is reduced to $1.00 per foot. There are only a few dock spaces available so we grabbed a spot after taking the dingy across to Gun Creek to clear customs before the rest of the fleet arrives. There are now 5 Outbounds all adjacent to each other. That is the Outbound "Hippocampus" in front of us in the photo. The sixth Outbound was going to Saint Maarten. The plan is to do an Outbound photo shoot this morning. We are taking the dock for three days for convenience and cleaning. First order was to hook up the hose and rinse the salt crust off the boat. Water and hydro is extra. Water is metered at $0.20 per gallon but it needed to be done. We also ran the Air Conditioning at the dock as we are not facing the breeze (no air flow) plus to dry out the cabin. We do not need fuel immediately so we are waiting to go to Leverick Bay where we can get 100 gallons of free water and free ice if we take on fuel plus for Salty Dawgs, we and get a dock space at a flat rate of $35.00 plus other major discounts off food and most importantly, Rum. We will just be stopping there for one night but not sure when. We still have lots of chores to do, reinstall the anchor, change our Solent sails from the Yankee cut (high cut heavy weather sail) to the larger one plus a multitude of other things. We used the Yankee a fair bit in the heavy weather and it works absolutely great. So, I need to get to work. As mentioned, we will be here at the Bitter End for a few days. We are waiting for the fleet to arrive for the Salty Dawg arrival party. Then, not sure exactly where we are going to go. We do plan on seeking out some of the more remote anchorages. One nice thing is, it is "off season" so not too busy with charter boats.
