We set out from Panama City yesterday for the Les Pearlas Islands, about 40 NM away. Not much wind so we started to rig the Asym and sure enough, the wind backed around so we flew the Code Zero instead. Only about 10 knots of wind but that gave us about 5 knots of speed so not bad. Approaching Les Pearlas Shawnda spotting 2 or 3 whales. Of course I was down below but did get up in time to see my first whale tail dissappearing into the sea. We're leaving this morning for French Poly. The 1st 14 days look like they are going to be REALLY slow, not much wind until we get south of the Equator to about 8 or 9 degrees south. My weather program is saying only 110 mile days.... Not the 186 we like! We will be passing right by the Galápagos Islands and on south into the trade winds - hopefully. So; here we go! The photo is of the fresh fruit and veggies we picked up prior to departue. Hopefully they will last a week or so.
