October 28, 2018 – Photo Album Updated
Hello all! Back in Papeete for a few days. We are planning on departing later in the week to visit some of the other Society Islands; Bora Bora, Huahine and Raiatea for a few weeks. It is coming up to summer here and getting hotter and muggier. That also means Cyclone Season and guess what, a “weak” El Nino has been forming and forecasts are it will continue for a while but not be too strong – we hope.
What does that mean? El Nino = a more active Cyclone season in the Pacific. So, we are preparing accordingly. While Tahiti rarely gets hit we will not be taking any chances. We will return to Papeete to provision and then be working our way East back into the Tuamotu’s all the while watching the weather patterns closely. We will probably eventually head back north to the Marquesas in late December or the New Year. There has never been a Cyclone in the Marquesas so many cruisers are planning on heading there as well.
In the meantime, I have added photos to the Albums for Tahiti as well as a few from Raroia.
Remember that if you want to watch my “swimming with the wale video” you have to use the Link as the web site (Flickr) will only show the first 3 minutes of the video. The Link is on the previous post as well as below the video in the Album.
