The trip from Victoria to Port Angeles, WA was rather uneventful. We anchored for the night and then departed Port Angeles in the early AM hours and made our way through the Straits with calm waters (and little wind). There was a beautiful sunrise Friday morning and then we spent the next 24 hours motoring through thick fog.

Upon entering the Pacific we were met with a southerly, which was a bit disappointing as we had hoped to set the sails when we came out of the Straits and scream down the coast. We decided to forgo a stop in Newport and instead headed into Tillamook. The Tillamook bar has been known for it's challenges and the Coast Guard offers to escort new boats to the area in safely. After docking, we were boarded for a safety inspection and passed with ease.

We spent the weekend visiting with Kent's parents (who live just outside of Tillamook), enjoying some home cooking and caught up with friends Dane and Stephanie Winchester who came over for the day from Portland.

We also met up with good friend Charles Turner, who will be accompanying us from Tillamook to San Francisco. The weather along the coast is looking clear and we are looking forward to making our way down the coast.
