Back in La Paz for a few days to replenish supplies and take care of a few life related items like laundry, paying bills, checking email etc.

We are loving the fresh food markets that are available here. La Paz has many fresh markets - think of your standard Farmers Market then add a tortillaria (for fresh tortillas) and a butcher and you have everything you need.

Most everything you can find in the US grocery stores we seem to be able to find here but it's been fun to explore the new choices that are also available. Numerous varieties of peppers and plantains lead to fun cooking experiments and although cheeses in Mexico don't tend to offer a lot of flavor we've had a good time trying to deduce which ones we would buy again.

Before leaving La Paz we went (twice) to a beachside restaurant that was recommended to us for having fantastic garlic crab. For $7.50US you get 3 large crabs that are boiled in a salt and garlic broth. There was enough crab on one plate to feed 2 hungry adults and with a fun atmosphere this restaurant was our favorite place this far. Oh, there is also a huge stuffed fish that Kent and others at our table had that was mouth watering.

Needless to say we have not been going hungry!
