Cay Caulker – yes we are STILL here!

Heather
We wish we could tell you we have been somewhere else in Belize since our last post but we have been sitting right here in Cay Caulker. The weather has not been cooperating as of late, and so staying put in the anchorage here has offered us protection but it has also tested our patience as we are more than ready to get someplace new. Really ready.

We have met a US couple here on their boat that are our age and the 4 of us have been attending trivia night at the sports bar in town. We now know more useless information than we did before coming to Cay Caulker. Such as -
What do ungulate animals have? Hooves
What is the 2nd smallest country? Monaco at 0.7 sq miles (Vatican City is #1 at 0.2 sq miles)
Where were bongos invented? Cuba
What is the capitol of Libya? Tripoli

The other night we pulled off a 1st place and $25US off our teams bar tab, it was quite the excitement - well at least for us it was exciting.

Nothing else to report, we hope to leave tomorrow for Turnoff Reef, which is about 20 miles away. There is nothing out at this reef which is exactly what we are looking forward to - a place to snorkel, kayak and spear fish our days away before we point the boat towards Mexico at the end of the month.

Picture above is from the main street on Cay Caulker, a sandy street with tons of restaurants advertising their drink and food specials tourism has hit here!
