Arthur
Well, its that time of the day again. And it always seems to be the middle of the night. Its 4:50 am here on Friday November 30th (15:50 UTC on the 29th). WE are at 28d09m S 177d 03m E. Sog of 6.1kts; Cog of about 168 magnetic (nearly due south true). The wind is now from the Soth west at about 10kts. And it will be between there and S for the next 24 to 36 hours or so--if the weather forecasts are accurate. Everything is well on board. Stephen has been working on some programming. Rivers has been carving the pumice we've collected (we wonder which underwater volcano produced it...). Amy, Tom and I are doing a lot of reading. We are all looking forward to gettting to New Zealand. It will have been about a year since we've been in the first world. Stephen remarked today that he thinks its been since Florida that he has had a long hot shower. We only get hot showers when we run the engine and they are never long. No standing luxuriating in the hot water. And we n ever run the engines just for hot water while we are in the tropics. And actually, we are no longer in the tropics. Which is also another thing that hasn't happened in about a year. I'm in a long pants with a fleece long underwear shirt on with another fleece over that. And I'm wearing my flanel lined leather slippers. Its probably down to about 65 degrees. Unbelievably cold.
