Arthur

Happy 4th of July, We are still anchored in Viani Bay in Fiji. Perhaps tomorrow we will sail on to Kioa or Rabi We've been enjoying some fantastic diving with a number of friends. We took 21 friend out the other day, and yesterday there were 24 of us on Craig and Bruce's Gato Go. Fortunately Kari and Helena on Merilelu have been with us to keep filling tanks!! Many thanks!! (Helena taught Stephen & Rivers to dive last year in Tonga). Yesterday we dove a site called the White Wall, where you dive down through a lava tube and come out onto a wall filled with vibrant white and purple soft corals. Today, Stephen and I dove a spot called the little cabbage patch. At all of these spots there is an amazing variety of hard and soft corals, and tons of fish. We haven't seen as many sharks as we did last year, yet. But today we did see a nice white tip reef shark. We also saw a couple of very good sized grouper. Maybe 40-50 lbs. And a huge wrasse. I think Fiji may have the best diving I've done yet.
The picture is of the entrance to Viani Bay, our quiet little bit of paradise. The dive spot on a barrier reef about half a mile out past this entrance, in the Somosomo Strait.
