We departed Leleuvia to head around the north end of Viti Levu to travel in the lee of the big island and behind the reefs. Our first stop was Viti Levu bay. We found a great little village there, and presented our yaqona for sevusevu, then received a nice tour of the village. Short stop, but a good one. The picture is of some Cocoa beans drying. They village grows cocoa, and some Japanese company buys them. They actually had a very strong chocolate smell, which is probably not surprising, but I didn't really expect it to be so strong from beans that hadn't been processed.

Top of an active underwater volcano about halfway between Terceira and Sao Miguel. Yes, Active. And there is no land in sight. We anchored in 100 feet of water. The dive was between 90 and 110 feet. With sheer drops to amazing depths all around.
