Arthur
Today we sailed 53 miles from Port Resolution on Tanna to Dillon's Bay on Erromango. Very fast sail. We hit 14.5 kts at one point, and surfed to 13 many times today. After arriving we went for a quick hike to find the rock where the missionary Reverend John Williams was killed then cooked and eaten upon arriving in 1839. After killing him an outline of his body was carved into this rock. There is also a plaque cemented on the the rock. We were guided by a bunch of giggling little girls. On the way back the girls picked some green beans for us from a garden. Then we were taken by a fellow named David to visit the yacht club that he and his three sons are building. The landscaping is pretty impressive. Lots of paths with rock walls and lots of interesting plants. The club is a small two story building that will have 4 guest rooms, showers and toilets, a kitchen and a common room. The wood is all from locally felled trees, milled with a portable sawmill.
