What a fantastic past 24 hours. Ideal sailing. Wind on the quarter at 15-20 kts, and no seas. Its very flat behind the protection of the great barrier reef. We've been sailing at 8-9 kts and did sailed 211 miles in the last 24 hours. On top of that we've been accompanied by Dolphins, little guys maybe 4ft long, not sure what species. Will have to look it up. And we just saw a huge sea turtle. Right now I think we are passing along the very remote area of Australia near Cape York and the Torres Strait. Not a sign of man on the mainland. Just huge dunes and some cliffs. We will probably need to drop anchor in a few hours in order to re-check the hydraulic system and wait for the tide to change before going through the Torres Strait and leaving the South Pacific.

Top of an active underwater volcano about halfway between Terceira and Sao Miguel. Yes, Active. And there is no land in sight. We anchored in 100 feet of water. The dive was between 90 and 110 feet. With sheer drops to amazing depths all around.
