Back in the Ditch

Today, I was up early again and waiting at the fuel dock when the marina opened at 0800. I was ale to fuel up and make my first scheduled bridge opening at 0815. I won't bore you with the details but I will say that the South Florida Bridge Tenders continued to live up to all of my expectations. Consequently, I was able to pass the time while motoring up the ICW, fantasizing about how much fun it would be to have a fifty caliber machine gun mounted on Norma's bowsprit. But, I digress.......
It was a beautiful day and I made it to my home for the next month at Fort Pierce and got into my slip about 4:00 PM. I plan to chill out here for a while before hauling out and giving Norma's hull some much needed and much deserved attention. While under way, I did get some visits from some manatees and playful dolphins. It was almost as if they were trying to say "hey, don't let those bridge tenders spoil your day, we're happy to have you back!" OK.... maybe I've been in the sun too many days in a row.
Since I didn't take any pictures while motoring up the ditch today, here's a picture of the Cape Florida Light.
