Dodging the Storms Day II

04 October 2012 | New Smyrna Beach, FL
Mike
This morning after making breakfast, I hauled the dinghy aboard and re-secured it before heading south. The bad weather seemed to be staying away. My original plan was to stop and anchor in Daytona but since I was making good time and the weather was holding, I pressed on to New Smyrna Beach.

As I neared the Ponce de Leone inlet, a very large storm cell was building behind me. I still managed to avoid it and made it into the New Smyrna Beach Municpal Marina with no problems. I decided to stay at a marina tonight against the threat of storms in the area and to do some internetting. (ta da!)

As I write this, there is a good deal of lightning in the area but so far its quiet here. Here's a sunrise picture from the mooring field this morning before I left St Augustine.
