Cruising AND Sailing!
12 February 2009 | Green Turtle Cay
Mike
See? They're not mutually exclusive after all! I guess we did the right thing by building in a goof off day on Spanish Cay because today we had south winds. (Yesterday, they would have been more or less on our nose.)
Today we all got to shut our engines off and SAIL all the way to Green Turtle Cay. It made for a nice quiet trip. Anyway, we're all settled in here at the Green Turtle Club and Marina. We even had drinks at the Tipsy Turtle bar after checking in. We also ran into some friends here that we made back in West End. There are lots of cruisers here at this marina and at the others on the island.
One of the perks of renting a slip here is that you get to have dinner at the very nice restaurant as part of the bargain. Cool! Anyway, we'll be here for a bit exploring and reprovisioning. I hear rum is only $8.00 a bottle here.
Anyway, internet seems pretty good here too! Here's a picture of Jason's boat "Veronica" under sail today. (If the picture looks a little cockeyed, its because I was under sail as well)
Ps. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BUDDIES NEAL, JEPPIE and COOP!! If you were here I'd buy ya all a beer.... really! I would!
