WE ARE A GO!

Just a quick blog update to say that WE ARE A GO for take off tomorrow. We will depart Hampton, VA for Tortola, BVI at 9am Friday!

The weather looks good for our departure. We should have westerly winds to help us get south-east and across the gulf stream (which limits the risk of rougher weather). From there we will wait for the trade winds to swing toward the east as we progress south toward Puerto Rico and the BVIs. The only weather concern at the moment is a Low Pressure system heading toward Cuba that should dissapait before we meet it, although our route could be altered if this low builds (although not expected to do so). We will certainly be keeping an eye on it though through the night and into the morning.

The docks are a buzz with activity. Everyone is rushing around getting their laundry done, getting in their last minute food shopping and finishing the various projects taking place on every boat. For us, this means finishing our water maker still! Argh! But it will be complete today and we are definitely ready for the passage.

Please see the links on the right side of the page. Here you can track our progress on the Rally transponder that updates our location every four hours and on our own SPOT transponder that updates every hour.

Hopefully we'll have fair seas and following winds.
