Ensenada - our first port of call in Mexico. It's quite a large town, population about 270,000 and it is situated at similar latitude to Port Macquarie.
We've been here about 2 weeks and the weather has been fantastic. Clear blue skies, sunshine and in the mid 20's every day. Cool at night, though, getting down to 10 or 11 some nights.
We are staying in Cruiseport Marina which shares a secure, fenced area with the cruise ship docks. It is very quiet and peaceful and incredibly clean and tidy. We are back in the cruising community here and have had fun swapping stories and information.
The groceries are good, plenty of choice and the prices are the cheapest we've had for some time. Eating out is very reasonable, too - probably 40% less than we were paying in USA. The people here are great and very forgiving of our non-existent Spanish. People on the street stop and offer assistance if you appear to be looking for something and shop assistants go out of their way to help.
We'll be moving on in another day or so, heading south down the Baja Peninsula.
