Onward to Eureka
06 September 2015
After two nights at sea, we spent yesterday in Charleston Boat Basin, Coos Bay OR, taking on 65 gallons of fuel (since Tacoma), cleaning the boat and crew, and most importantly, getting some rest. We arrived there early morning, but had to spend three hours pumping out the Port fuel tank into jerry cans to fix a small, smelly leak in the fuel level sensor. After clean up, we walked to a great Seafood restaurant for lunch - yum! Fred has been cooking some amazing meals as well, so we're eating well -when the seas cooperate.
Right now, we're motoring near Cape Blanco at 8 kts with the Genoa out into a light Southerly, and very calm seas - the most gentle conditions we've had for the trip. These conditions are not expected to continue however. Our plan is make Eureka by tomorrow early morning, but as always, that's weather dependent. We have Cresent City as our exit if needed. For now, life is comfortable!!
