Cocoa Florida
29 November 2015
After a very early start again yesterday we have arrived at Cocoa - it's one of the historic old towns of Florida, founded in 1859 and very attractive.
We had booked two nights in the marina by phone but when we arrived the only space was outside with little protection from the wind and chop. We decided to stay because we needed water as we have not yet fired up the water maker with muttering from the skipper and loads of fendering against the wooden pilings. As it was the night was calm - we had a very pleasant dinner ashore and we decided to spend a second night.
We dinghied across the ICW to a boat park near West Marine the boat store and amongst other things bought ourselves an inflatable stand up paddle board which was 25% off in the Black Friday sale. The dear man who served us gave us a lift in his car back to the dinghy dock as it was too heavy to carry.
We then got out the folding bikes and headed off for the supermarket. The route took us along a shady riverside road with beautiful houses which was conveniently closed for a marathon just finishing and we replenished our saddle bags with goodies and came back to the boat.
