May 26th - Stonington, CT to Point Judith, RI
27 May 2009
ugly weather :(
Stonington, CT to Point Judith, RI
More than a bit lumpy! It was good to get into Point Judith. Stonington is not a place we will go back to. Except for Noah's Restaurant, the rest was unfriendly, too expensive and a very rocky mooring.
We motored, with the wind in our teeth and the current against us (seems always to be like that). Got into Point Judith and tied up to a dock at Belle Vue Yachting Center. Asked for direction to a store and they were very friendly. Mark (maybe the owner??) said to stay on the dock and walk up to the little store. The store wasn't really open, but the guy there opened for us.
Mark said to stay on the dock while we got our email if we wanted. We did! Thanks Mark!
We then motored up a tiny channel and anchored in between two tiny islands. We were asleep before nine and had a very restful night.
Stopped at the dock on the way out of the harbour and got advice on where to go next, where not to go with the weather the way it was and we were then off - heading for Dutch Harbor RI.
