May 28th - East Greenwich Yacht Club
Rescued by a fellow Irwin owner. We are on his second mooring just off the East Greenwich Yacht Club. (East Greenwich RI). Peaceful, quiet and a lovely YC. For a small fee we have club privileges and they are great. We had a (by car) tour of Newport RI including some of the famous mansions. And I do mean mansions!!!!
This was followed by supper at Sala's in Newport. An off the beaten path place that was superb! And priced for us - very economical.
Jim is getting his Irwin 38 ready to launch in three weeks and he sure is doing a great job - what a boat. And we thought ours had lots of room.
Tomorrow is a shore a shore day because Linda has to get a novel proposal in. Gotta love those deadlines.
The trip up from Dutch Harbour was uneventful. Wind on our nose with waves lessening the further up the river we got.
So - now it is back to the boat to get some more sleep. I do not know why I am tired - I had 11 hours sleep last night.
Fair winds
(The picture is our view looking out toward the bay - way off in the distance.)
