37.2 km, 6 1/2 hours
The forecast said "Rain, may be heavy at times". Well . we got all the "at times" that were possible between Smiths Cove and Casco Passage. It rained, it poured and it poured some more. Sure did wash the salt off Mystery. And we found leaks we did not know we had! But. with all the rain it was beautiful. I saw four or five sets of dolphin mom and pup swimming together. We had the Reach to ourselves. Just us and those lobster floats :).
By Casco Passage it had quit with the rain and the wind picked up. Except - it was in the opposite direction to the current, and that makes for lumpy traveling.
North East Harbour was right where we expected it to be and we grabbed a floating dock, with water for $25.00. Kind of a "pre-season" rate. The sun was out in full force now and everything we had that was soaked was hanging on the life lines drying. The new town library is beautiful and the wifi is free there. We got a few groceries, got some ice and had a nice quiet sleep.
