September 14th to September 21st
We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. On the 23rd we headed for Napanee for a couple of nights and hoped to see boaters we met last year. Not much going on here , few boats and the town was not busy . We walked a bit both days.

We up early and left for Kingston Mills Locks in order to arrive for the first lock . McGarvey's Landing - Quaker Steak and Lube
Our trip down the river and lake and river were uneventful but, as we hit Lake Erie our fun began as the 1/2 metre waves built to 1 1/2 and we were running SE into the NE small craft high wind warning breeze. Our attemt to get up on plane resulted in both motors to labor and a check of all oil levels showed no problems so on to the fuel filters - change them (signs of algae) and switch to the starboard fuel tank and we putted for 7 hrs in rough seas to Vermilion as I was sure this would be the best place to be to correct our fuel problems . Our friend Rich and Patti have been very helpful as well as Jan at Vermilion Power Boats who found someone to "polish" our fuel and clean our tanks . AND the reason we left early has come to pass - RAIN for 2 days . Karen has assured me that we are not travelling like that again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow is -You guessed it SHOPPING day with Rich and Patti . We plan to leave here on Thursday am for Fairport Harbour Marina and then on to Erie on Friday and Tonawanda on Saturday.
I did manage to find a 30 pack of Guinnes Cream Ale for $12.99 and Boush Lite is $14.99 for 30 cans and Karen wonders why I drink beer - it cheeper that pop !!!!!!!!!!!!!
