October 21st & forward

I returned to the boat on the October 21st and with Gerald's help the batteries were removed and I cleaned under the battery cases and applied a layer of gel coat. I also looked for a way to run power from the new to be installed inverter to the power panel in the boat cabin. It took quite a while but [...]

September 14th to September 21st

We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

August 27th to September 13th

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. Shopping , walking , dinghy rides and of course wings at Riley's on Tuesday night. The local boaters were always on the dock in [...]

August 23 to August 27th

On the 23rd we headed for Napanee for a couple of nights and hoped to see boaters we met last year. Not much going on here , few boats and the town was not busy . We walked a bit both days.

Burlington,VT to Montreal

19 June 2010
Wayne
Hi,
We left Burlington on Monday am and just crossed into Canada and it started to RAIN and I got wet all the way to St.Jean ,QC and right past the old fort that I wanted to stop and see - I have been past it 4 times now and the last 2 times it has poured . By the time we tied up the rain had stopped so I walked to a Roger outlet and got a new slide phone - BACK in touch again . We were in St. Jean 2 days - the second on the blue line at the lock where there was a ramp so Karen and I went shopping and got take out for dinner and met people we met in Burlington who we would see several times in the next few days . We travelled the Chambly Canal to Chambly on Wednesday am and stayed 2 days and they to Saint Ours lock on Friday annd then left for Montreal at 5:45am today to miss the high winds forcast - not a gust and the St. Lawerance was so flat it was draggy. We were tied up by 10:00am in the Old Port . New docks, new power , and no laundry as it is not hooked up yet . The laundry bag is full . It was hot and muggy til 3:00pm and then it poured and now the sun is out at 5:45pm and hot .
The weather has been pretty good and we have not had a whole bad day except for the wind a couple of weeks ago - almost pulled Karens arms out of their sockets in the locks . We have done 52 locks now - as little as 6 feet to 40 ft at one lock.
Karen's bruised leg is getting better but is still sore . More to come !!!!!!!!!!
