October 21st & forward

I returned to the boat on the October 21st and with Gerald's help the batteries were removed and I cleaned under the battery cases and applied a layer of gel coat. I also looked for a way to run power from the new to be installed inverter to the power panel in the boat cabin. It took quite a while but [...]

September 14th to September 21st

We left at sunrise for Kincardine and had good seas and were able to cut straight south instead of following the shore line for protection as we had done last year. We visited with Rick and Cheryl and left before sun up in order to miss an early afternoon wind direction change that never happened !! You've got to love weather forecasts !! We were in Sarnia before noon and stayed for a week. I rented a car and we drove to Ingersoll for Lori's car and visited friends a bit before heading to Ecarte Marine for winter storage.

August 27th to September 13th

We got an early start crossing Rice Lake and up the Otonabee River to Peterborough by 1pm. We plan to stay a week as we enjoyed our stay before and were always on the move. Shopping , walking , dinghy rides and of course wings at Riley's on Tuesday night. The local boaters were always on the dock in [...]

Summer 2011 - May 10 to July 17th

26 October 2011 | Mostly Sarnia
Wayne
Moved to the boat on May 19th with the car loaded and returned home again on the 23rd and back for good on May 25th . We spent the next 2 weeks + cleaning and stowing things away for the summer .
Our 1st visitors were Do & Jack Hayward and Shirley & Ken Hickey who came to Sarnia on June 14th for a day cruise on the St.Clair River and dinner on board.
On June 16th we boated to Port Huron - just across the the river - and Wayne & Anne Henderson aboard Sea Loon stayed at the River Street Marina for 2 nites , did some shopping and acquired some liquor to sustain happy hour for a couple of weeks !!!!!!
The next couple of weeks were spent shopping - both sides of the border - socializing as boaters docked for the season and the occasional day cruise .
Fellow boaters Leeannah & Brian and boys Cole & Carter - 38' Scarab - visited on the 1st & 2nd of July as there boat was in "sick bay" . Leeannah and the boys came to swim on Monday afternoon.
On July 6th & 7th I helped son Kevin at a job he had in Sarnia . On the 9th we made a lunch & necessity run to Port Huron . This was the 1st weekend of Bay Fest - partying 9:00am til 4:00am Friday to Sunday . Real boring stuff !!!!!
On July 12th we met a couple from Michigan , Greg and Alecia Walker . Greg works for the company employed by the US government to do all the electrical work in Afghanistan and spends at least 330 days a year out of the US . We had a great time showing them around Sarnia and hearing the real facts about his work and life and history of Afghanistan . We still keep in touch and expect to see them next year . AND then the next weekend of Bay Fest .
On Sunday ,July 17th , we hosted the winners of a silent auction at the Rotary Golf Tournament for a Cruise on our boat on the St. Clair River and dinner on board "Iceman46" .Vicki & Doug Parkhill and guests enjoyed a sunny , hot day great for a fun trip on the river . We enjoyed their company .
